About
Competitive cheerleading is a sport for
flexible, gymnast type of girls. It is an all girl sport. At
competitive cheerleading competitions you have three different
rounds. Round 1: basic cheer with jumps. You get judged on voice
(how loud you are but yet not squeaky and childish sounding),
motions (how well you punch your motions in the cheer and they
don't look sloppy), formations (how well you move positions from
one place to the next), and how in sync the team is as a whole.
Round 2: Yet again another cheer but with more gymnastic type
stuff (cartwheels, splits, round off, back walkover, exc.) and
jumps. You get judged on all the same things as in first round.
Round 3: You still have a cheer but this involves stunting ( a
group usually consisting of four girls, one flyer, two bases,
and one back spot), see pictures to right the right and left. You
still have jumps. In third round you get judged on how complex
things are, what stunts you can do, how nice they look, how in
sync the stunt groups are, whether or not you drop the flyer
which is a penalty, and then all the same things as the first
two rounds.
