American History Imperialism Project

For this project. I would like you to show me that you understand  "What Imperialism is To do this you need to work on your own and your project needs to show two hours worth of work.

If your project is done well, you will do and answer the following:

1.Define Imperialism.

2. Give three examples of Imperialism as a positive.

3. Give three examples of Imperialism as a negative.

4. What are Imperialists? What are anti-Imperialist? Which would you be and why?

5. What two types of Imperialism are there? (Remember I talked about good and bad) Give an example of each.

6. What event in U.S. History started the United States down the road to Imperialism (Give two reasons we had to support it.

7. Name two places in the world where we are trying to help the people of these nations. Research the 5W's. Based on what you find, tell whether you support us helping them or not? If no, what do you think would be happening if we were not doing this?

8. How has us becoming Imperialistic, helped developed our role as the world police? Do you think we should have taken this role? Besides Imperialism, name one major reason why we inherited this role.

9.; What is Trade? What is a trade deficit? Name the four countries that we trade with the most. Is there any advantage to having a trade deficit with another country?

10. How could trading with other countries be seen as political and not just economic?

11. Pick two of the territories we acquired after the Spanish-American War and tell what our relationship is with them today.

12. What role do we play with the running of the Panama Canal?
