Return to Learn Plan-
Across the United States schools are grappling with how to best educate their students while keeping students, staff, and loved ones safe from the spread of this virus. Delton Kellogg Schools has been committed to researching the safest ways possible to meet the needs of our students and community.
We know that there are some families who have already decided about next year. Some have decided that online is best for their family, while others are interested in returning to in-person instruction. We also recognize that there are families who still are unsure. Linked below, you will find our detailed Return to Learn plan that outlines two options- online and in-person. These options are for if our region remains in Phase 4 of Michigan’s Safe Start Plan.
The first page of the Return to Learn plan gives a general overview of both options. The remainder of the document explains the online and in-person options, with details for each school building. The last page explains what the return to learning would look like if our region moves to Phases 1-3.
Please review this document and complete the Learning Plan Option survey linked below which asks what plan you are selecting for your children. We ask that parents complete this survey by 12 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11. This will allow us time to adjust student schedules, prepare classrooms accordingly, and enroll students in the online program. We ask that you complete the survey for each child in your household.
We appreciate all of the parents who completed our Return to School survey that was sent out a couple of weeks ago. It helped us feel confident in offering two different options as 30% of respondents said they would enroll students in the online program. This will allow us to social distance students by having smaller class sizes. If a significant amount of parents change their minds about enrolling students in the online program, we will have to reevaluate our options.
We appreciate the flexibility that has been shown by everyone in our community as we look forward to the school year. We remain optimistic about the school year, regardless of the circumstances, and remain committed to helping our students be successful. I thank you for your patience and understanding as we plan to provide the best possible experience for your children as we keep the health and safety of everyone involved in mind.

It would help us if you would please fill out the form below. This will allow the Food Service Department make sure we have enough meal packs on each van/bus. Please email Sharon Boyle - Food Service Director at email@example.com if you have any questions. We will hand out the meal packs at different locations rather than have everyone meet at the school.
