The Varsity track meet vs Schoolcraft that was postponed on Friday, April 16th, has been rescheduled for Monday, April 26th AT Schoolcraft with a 4:30 pm start.
Delton Kellogg Athletics is looking for folks that want to assist in running MS and HS track meets. We will be needing people to help out at the finish line, at the field events venues (high jump, pole vault, long jump, discus, and shot put), and exchange zone flaggers. Home meets are scheduled for 4/22, 4/28, 5/12, and 5/17 for the HS and 4/27 for the MS.
All of these jobs are very easy to do and you can be taught how to do them in a manner of seconds, so please don't be intimidated. They are fun and we can't host the event without your help. (No pressure there, eh?)
If you would like to help out or have any questions on what it entails, please contact the Athletic Office at 269 623-1524, or Misty Kapteyn, DK's Athletic Administrator's Assistant, at 269 623-1120.
Come on out and have some fun as we support our DK student-athletes.
Thanks and Go Panthers!!
This is a message from the Athletic Department at Delton Kellogg Schools regarding sports physical information.
Each Spring, we have been fortunate enough to have the local doctor's office provide a Physical Day at DK in the Spring for sports physicals for the upcoming sports seasons.
However, that will no longer be an option starting with the Spring of 2021.
I have included information shared with us by our local doctor's office (Ascension Borgess Hospital Family Medicine Delton) regarding scheduling for sports physicals anytime between now and the end of the 2020-21 school year. MHSAA Physical forms can be found on the Athletic Webpage of the school's website. Obviously, you are more than able to utilize your own family physician but we encourage you to get your student athlete's physical scheduled as soon as possible. As a reminder, all student-athletes MUST have an updated/current physical on file with the Athletic Office in order to compete in any practices/games during the 2021-22 athletic seasons. Any physical dated after April 15, 2021, are good for the 2021-22 athletic seasons.
Sports Physicals can be completed at our office during the hours below, usually, same-day appointments are available. If there's an additional need we may be able to accommodate with notice, please call me directly.
The Sports Physicals are $30 and payment is due at the time of service.
We encourage all parents/guardians to schedule an Annual Well Child Exam if their child is due and we can complete the Sports Physical during the Well Child exam.
Our Office Hours:
Please advise parents to call to schedule an appointment at 269-623-5521.
If you have any questions, please contact the Athletic Office at 269 623-1524. Thanks and Go Panthers!!
Congratulations to the JV Softball team for winning the Barry County Invitational on Saturday, April 17. They defeated Hastings 20-1 and Lakewood 17-7. Congrats to Coach Wooden, Coach Stoneburner, and the ladies on the JV team for a great day at DK!!
Our varsity girls lost in the Championship to a tough Lakewood team by the score of 2-1.
Our baseball teams came home without a win but gained some valuable experience to prepare them for their upcoming SAC league season
Our first antigen testing experience ended up very successful and we wish to extend a thank you to all of you for helping to make it go so smoothly. Our DK student-athletes are an absolute joy to work with. Thank you for being such supportive parents and guardians.
We continue to tweak our testing procedures to create the safest process that we possibly can. With that being said, we are moving our testing day, for HS student-athletes, to Sunday afternoon in the Aux gym and our MS student-athletes to Friday after school in the cafeteria/gym area. The goal is to minimize the amount of contact tracing that would occur if we have a positive test with one of our student-athletes.
The High School plan, in the Aux Gym, is as follows:
Soccer - 2:00 pm
Girls Track - 2:20 pm
Softball - 2:40 pm
Golf - 3:00 pm
Baseball - 3:20 pm
Boys Track - 3:40
If your student-athlete is not able to make their timeslot, please have them show for one of the other timeslots but just let Whitney Pavlat, our certified athletic trainer, when they arrive for testing that they are out of their timeslot.
If they are not able to make it on Sunday due to a prior commitment, please have your student-athlete visit the athletic office when they arrive at school. We are really trying to keep this number to a bare minimum so any effort that you can make to ensure that your student-athlete makes their Sunday timeslot will be very much appreciated.
If your student-athlete has tested positive with a PCR test and has served their quarantine time, they need to provide written documentation to the Athletic Office upon their return and they would then not be required to antigen test for 90 days.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Athletic Office at 269 623-1524. Thanks and Go Panthers!!
