Middle School Athletics
Students at DKMS can participate in several school-sponsored sports beginning in the 6th grade. A current physical must be on file prior to the first day of practice.
- Cross Country
- Boys Basketball
- Competitive Cheer
- Girls Basketball
- Track and Field
The Middle School Cross Country team will be holding their first practice this Thursday, September 3rd from 3:00 - 4:30 pm in the west MS parking lot. Coach Phillips will meet the team there and cover paperwork requirements, updated schedules, and have a short practice.
Middle School volleyball will begin on Wednesday, September 9th right after school until 4:30 pm. Coach Hogoboom and Coach Poignard will meet your student athletes in the middle school gym and go over paperwork, expectations, and provide updated schedules.
With B teams being canceled for this upcoming season, we are asking that 6th graders not show for the first practice and we will get word to them if lack of numbers dictates opportunities for them to compete in volleyball this upcoming season.
As a reminder, all student-athletes MUST have an updated physical form registered in the athletic office before they will be allowed to compete in any practices and/or games. The MHSAA has allowed, for this year only, an additional signature page that will be attached to last year's physical form that will allow that physical to be good through the 2020-21 school year.
In addition, there will be COVID-19 form that will need to be signed and returned to the athletic office as well. All of the forms needed for your student-athlete to be eligible can be found on the athletic page of the school's website.
If your student-athlete did not have a physical on file with the athletic office during the 2019-20 school year, they will be required to have a new physical completed in order to practice or play.
If you have any questions, please contact the Athletic Office at 269 623-1524. Thanks and Go Panthers!!
